In 1982, AIM International pioneered the distribution of a concentrated juice powder that contained the entire spectrum of nutrition found in rich barley grass - Barleygreen. It quickly gained a dedicated consumer base around the world, and testimonials abounded concerning its health supportive benefits. Yet, after two decades of promoting this barley juice powder, AIM refused to rest on its laurels. Because of their commitment to excellence, the company owners set out to improve this already wonderful green food.

AIM is dedicated to continually providing excellent products that will improve the quality of people's lives. After distributing Barleygreen for nearly 20 years and seeing its quality continue to flounder, the decision was made to forge ahead with plans to create a new and improved green barley product. In 1999, two pristine environments were selected for production – New Zealand and Alberta, Canada. Consultants were hired, land was leased, a production facility was secured, and research and development began. In the fall of 2001, several test plots were harvested and juiced, and the results were tremendous.

Introduced to AIM Members and customers in July 2002, AIM BarleyLife is the highest quality barley juice product available anywhere. Testing by the Hallelujah Acres Foundation comparing one jar of BarleyLife to one jar of Barleygreen showed that BarleyLife is indeed tremendous: Protein (amino acids) - 2 times greater, Chlorophyll - 1.5 times more, superoxide dismutase (SOD - a marker of antioxidant activity and a free-radical fighter) - 6 times greater, and Peroxidase (a marker of freshness) - over 20 times greater than the US grown Barleygreen. Then AIM had independent testing done and, being very conservative, compared the lower BarleyLife readings with the best Barleygreen data they had, and the results were still better.

AIM's cold concentration process (that stores the juice immediately in the field) produces the highest quality fresh barley juice in the world. Immediate juicing and cooling systems assure that the fragile chlorophyll does not break down while being transported to the factory. BarleyLife's chlorophyll content averaged 662 mg/100g in 2003. AIM also developed an extensive testing program, which insures there are no chemical residues while maintaining the highest nutrient content to date.

AIM has continually worked with third parties who have researched barley leaf extract for many years. This research has just scratched the surface in understanding what's in the barley leaf, which has resulted in the wonderful benefits barley juice users have experienced. Barleygreen continued to be sold while supplies lasted, and that stock has now been depleted.
